Plant Hike: Identifying Medicinal Plants of South Mountain

  • South Mountain (Trailhead TBA) (map)

Early bird special expires March 13th including for those registered but not yet paid.

South Mountain is home to many of our Sonoran native species, including some rare plants that are hard to find in other areas. On this hike we'll be identifying and tasting medicinal plants, learning a bit of herbal first aid, and meditating with plant communities in sacred spaces. Bring your camera and a notebook to get the most out of this adventure!

Participants must be able to walk 4 miles on rocky desert terrain. This is not a strenuous hike but it does require using hands and feet on occasion. If you use an assistive device please consider joining us for our plant walks on March 6th and 27th, which will be on a paved surface.

Candice is certified in wilderness first aid and austere medicine and will be prepared for your safety. If you have allergies or asthma, please do not forget your epi-pen, inhaler, or anything else that will keep you well. Sturdy shoes and one liter of water are required, snacks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are recommended. Anyone arriving unprepared will be turned away without a refund.

Pre-registration and pre-payment required at least 24 hours before class.

Refund Policy: All credit card refunds will be charged a $5.00 cancellation fee. No refunds or cancellations 5 days or fewer before class.
