Woods Canyon Lake Plant Hike + Full Moon Rise

  • Woods Canyon Lake Marina (map)

Did you know about 60% of plants growing in Arizona are medicinal, edible, or useful for humans? To learn more about what’s growing up in this neck of the woods, join us for a beautiful mountain hike through Spruce, Fir, and Pine as we meander around Woods Canyon Lake!

Candice will guide you through the forest to discover the many medicinal plants and trees growing in the high elevations of Arizona’s Mogollon Rim, set along the beautiful Woods Canyon Lake. This is a moderately strenuous hike and is not recommended for folks with cardiac or respiratory conditions.

After the hike, feel free to stay and watch the Supermoon rise over the lake. It’s really something special to see, but not required. The hike should end around 6:30-7, and the moon will rise around 7:30-8.

Please note - this is a hike and requires some stamina. Candice is certified in Wilderness First Aid but please know your limits. Sturdy shoes or boots are required, and sandals/open toed shoes will NOT BE ALLOWED. If you have an inhaler, epi pen, allergies, or serious medical condition, please notify us right away. Here’s what you should bring to have the most enjoyable experience possible:

  • Boots or sturdy shoes and good socks

  • Hat, sunglasses

  • Rain gear - it’s Monsoon season in Arizona - a rain jacket or poncho is REQUIRED. Hypothermia real and we don’t want that.

  • It’s recommended that you wear pants instead of shorts

  • Notebook, pen, camera, or whatever you want to take notes

  • 1 liter of water and plenty of snacks - we’ll be out there for a while

  • Towel if you want to take a dip

  • Any medications or other precautionary items you need.

Do not bring pets or show up under the influence of alcohol or cannabis. You can enjoy those things after the hike - my goal is to teach you awesome plant stuff and keep you safe. If someone is found to be under the influence, without water, without a rain jacket, or in the wrong shoes, they’ll be turned away with NO refund.

If you have any questions, send us an email hello@rebelherbal.com.

See you soon!
